Tháng 4 năm 2023, chuỗi tác phẩm “Duality” (Đối ngẫu) ra đời, mở màn với Vol.1 – triển lãm song tấu của hai nữ nghệ sĩ Lập Phương và Trịnh Cẩm Nhi. Đây là một cuộc đối thoại thị giác giàu sắc thái: tinh tế trong biểu đạt, nhưng vẫn chất chứa sức mạnh nội tâm. Tại đây, “Mảnh Linh Hồn” là nơi tâm hồn gặp gỡ, chiêm nghiệm, suy tư, an yên, với những hình ảnh phản chiếu từ các tác phẩm điêu khắc của Lập Phương đan xen với những bức tranh tĩnh lặng của Cẩm Nhi.

Trong sự kiện đánh dấu không gian mới, Rue Miche và Annam Gallery hân hạnh giới thiệu triển lãm nhóm “Kaleidoscope – The Dreamscape of Self” (Kính vạn hoa – Cảnh giới của Bản ngã). Nếu Vol.1 là tiếng thì thầm của sự tối giản, thì Vol.2 lại bùng nổ như một bản hòa tấu thị giác: những tác phẩm rực rỡ, đa sắc, chuyển động, không ngừng thách thức ánh nhìn của người xem. Từ những bố cục bùng nổ đến các lớp màu biến ảo, mỗi tác phẩm là một thử nghiệm về cường độ màu sắc – như từng mảnh gương trong kính vạn hoa, phản chiếu và khuếch đại một thế giới nội tâm đa chiều.

Thoạt nhìn, các tác phẩm mang vẻ tươi vui và mời gọi; nhưng khi dừng lại quan sát kỹ hơn, người xem được dẫn dắt để khám phá một lớp nghĩa sâu hơn – nơi mỗi nghệ sĩ gửi gắm một câu chuyện thầm kín ẩn sau bề mặt. Có người dựng nên những đối lập có chủ đích để khơi gợi những xung đột thị giác (visual dissonance), có người chồng lớp men mỏng để khơi mở một bề mặt không gian ba chiều sống động đến phát sáng. Màu sắc ở đây không chỉ để ngắm nhìn, mà trở thành một thực thể sống: chúng va chạm, đối thoại với nhau, tạo nên một nhịp điệu lan tỏa khắp không gian triển lãm. Trong nhịp điệu ấy, nghệ sĩ kiến tạo những thực tại khác – những phong cảnh trừu tượng rực rỡ, những hình khối độc đáo mang ngôn ngữ riêng. Người xem được mời bước vào những thế giới ấy, như tìm thấy một khoảng trú ngụ tạm thời, một niềm khoái cảm thẩm mỹ thuần khiết, nơi mọi quy ước của đời thường dường như tan biến.

Annam Gallery is honored to collaborate with Rue Miche L’édition at Union Square in launching a new artistic initiative aimed at shaping a cultural and creative space for emerging Vietnamese talents. As RueMiche created an arena for many clothing designers to flourish, Annam is also a bridge that connects art lovers and artists closer to each other.

Back in April 2023, a series called “Duality” was created and Volume 1, a duo exhibition by two women artists, Lap Phuong and Trinh Cam Nhi was a visual dialogue full of subtle yet powerful nuances. Here, “Fragment of Soul” was a place where souls meet to contemplate, to think deeply, to rest in tranquility , with reflections of Lap Phuong’s sculptures intertwined with Cam Nhi’s calming paintings.

For this very first event at the newly opened venue, Rue Miche and Annam gallery are pleased to present the group exhibition “Kaleidoscope – The Dreamscape of Self”, which celebrates maximalist works that overflowing with colours and movement. While Volume 1 was a representation of a more minimalist approach , this exhibition, also known as Volume 2, consists of eye-catching works,with bright hues that challenge the audience’s vision. From explosive compositions to layered, nuanced planes of hue, each work is an experiment in chromatic intensity.

While these works are playful and inviting to look at first glance, the audience are also questioned to examine much closer – underneath , what is the real tale that each artist implies. Some artists use deliberate juxtapositions to create visual dissonance, while others layer glazes to create a glowing, almost three-dimensional depth. Here, colours are used vividly, as artists used them to interact with one another, creating a sense of movement and vitality that pulses across the exhibition. Some artists use colour to construct alternate realities- vibrant , abstracted landscapes and unique geometric forms. The audience is invited into these new worlds , places of respite and pure aesthetic delight where the rules of everyday life do not apply.

The chaotic and sometimes overwhelming density of the compositions demands sustained engagement. The lack of single, clear narrative forces the audience to construct their own meaning from the eclectic mix of elements. The journey through this exhibition is reckoning with complexity- both the artist’s and your own. It is a reminder that beauty and truth can be found not just in what is simple and sparse, but in the vibrant, overwhelming, and intricate reality of everything.

The chaos — and at times overwhelming intensity — of the works demands absolute focus. The absence of a clear, coherent narrative forces the viewer to construct their own meaning from a diverse blend of elements. The journey through this exhibition is a confrontation with complexity — both that of the artist and of yourself. It reminds us that beauty and truth do not reside only in what is minimal or restrained, but also in the vivid, overwhelming, and intricate reality of the world around us. A contrast full of vitality — an invitation to immerse yourself in the raw, unfiltered energy of color.

These works do more than create a deeply sensory visual experience; they awaken in us a memory of the profound connection between color and life itself.
