Phạm Thủy Tiên (1997) là họa sĩ và nghệ sĩ thị giác hiện sống và làm việc tại Hà Nội, Việt Nam. Cô tốt nghiệp thủ khoa Cử nhân và Thạc sĩ Mỹ thuật tại Trường Đại học Mỹ thuật Việt Nam. Tác phẩm của cô đã được triển lãm rộng rãi trong và ngoài nước, đồng thời giành được nhiều giải thưởng uy tín.
Thực hành nghệ thuật của cô tập trung khám phá văn hóa Việt Nam trong bối cảnh một xã hội chuyển đổi trước sự can thiệp của các nền văn hóa khác, được thể hiện thông qua các yếu tố cảnh quan, đồ vật, sự kiện, hiện vật và tình huống mang tính đối lập và ẩn dụ.
Cô thực hành nghệ thuật trên các chất liệu truyền thống như sơn dầu, sơn mài, lụa, màu bột, quốc họa, gốm,… và dần đi tới thực hành ứng tác sắp đặt đa chất liệu trong không gian.
Ngôn ngữ nghệ thuật của cô được bày tỏ thông qua các khía cạnh nội tâm, ký ức cá nhân và những câu chuyện xoay quanh đời sống bắt đầu thay đổi bởi yếu tố lai do sự di chuyển và phổ cập văn hoá từ các vùng đất khác nhau, biểu đạt bằng những hình ảnh mơ mộng và thi vị hoá, yếu tố lãng mạn và thô cứng đan xen trong sự bức bối của không gian địa lý và suy tư.
Pham Thuy Tien (b. 1997) is a painter and visual artist currently living and working in Hanoi, Vietnam. She graduated as valedictorian with both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts. Her work has been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally and has received numerous prestigious awards.
Her artistic practice explores Vietnamese culture within a transforming society shaped by the influence and intervention of other cultures. She approaches this through landscapes, objects, events, artifacts, and situations that carry contrasting and metaphorical meanings.
Working across traditional media such as oil painting, lacquer, silk, gouache, traditional Vietnamese painting, and ceramics, she has gradually expanded her practice into improvisational, multi-material spatial installations.
Her artistic language unfolds through themes of interiority, personal memory, and stories of everyday life increasingly shaped by cultural hybridity, as movement and the circulation of cultures from different regions transform familiar landscapes and experiences. These ideas are expressed through dreamlike and poetic imagery, where romantic and raw elements intertwine within the tension of geographical spaces and personal contemplation.
She has presented her paintings and installations at major events and exhibitions, including the Vietnam–Singapore Friendship Exhibition (2023), Hanoi Design Week (2022, 2024), and the Vietnam Fine Arts Exhibition (2020, 2023).
